New Zealand review on Xenotransplantation

In 2005 the Bioethics Council in New Zealand released a discussion document regarding xenotransplantation research and implementation.

The council called for public submissions addressing cultural, spiritual and ethical concerns about xeno, in the light of possible changes to the current moratorium in NZ.

Unfortunately for the animals involved in the research and the population of New Zealand put at risk by the unleashing of the dangerous and unknown factors inherent in xenotransplantation research, the Bio Ethics Council has concluded that animal-human transplantation is acceptable and will be allowed to develop in New Zealand.
